DJ Khaled's Proposal To Nicki Minaj Was A Stunt To Promote His New Single

The rapper's marriage proposal to fellow label mate, Nicki Minaj was just a publicity stunt to promote his new single,  "I Wanna Be With You" which also features Nicki.

Minaj who exposed this on Monday while talking to Hot 97′s Funkmaster Flex says the stunt was a promotional gag to draw attention to his upcoming album;

"I was shocked just like the rest of the world and I was cracking up laughing with the rest of the world 'cause Khaled is a master at what he does. 

Nobody in my real life took it seriously. Everybody just hit me like, 'LOL. Yo, Khaled is crazy. Khaled is my brother and Khaled was not serious with that damn proposal, ya'll, please let it go.  

He was kidding. He's not attracted to me, he doesn't like me. We're brother and sister. It was just another way for him to kinda give the world a glimpse on the feeling of this record".

Proposal Accepted? Nicki Minaj Spotted Wearing A Diamond Ring

Nicki Minaj hasn't officially said anything about the awkward marriage proposal from DJ Khaled but she was spotted wearing a huge diamond rock on her engagement finger and there are speculations it looks like the $500,000 diamond ring the DJ proposed with.

DJ Khaled Speaks On Proposal To Nicki Minaj, "I Will Never Give Up"

Earlier this week, Khaled, 37, proposed to his YMCMB label-mate, Nicki Minaj, 30 and presented her with a 10-carat engagement ring via a videotaped message with MTV News. The clip went viral and people thought it was a publicity stunt but the DJ says its real and from his heart.

Kanye held his album listening party Monday night at Milk Studios in New York. The star-studded crowd including Beyoncé, Jay-Z, Timbaland, Busta Rhymes and DJ Khaled gathered to hear West play each track and speak out about his secretive sixth album.

On the title: “I wanna explain something about the title Yeezus. Simply put, West was my slave name and Yeezus is my god name.”

On the thought process: “Collectively, collaboratively, we didn't give a fuck about what nobody said from the outside looking in. We just wanted to make the best product possible and this is just the beginning of an entirely new mentality of how to make music directly for the people.”
