Video: D'Banj Admits His Music Has Changed On The 1-on-1 Show With Moet

Banger Lee aka Eja Nla aka D'banj was recently on Soundcity's 1-on-1 interview show with Moet Abebe. As usual D'banj was his fun and playful self.
The DB records label boss admits his music has changed, has no political plans, doesn't have a girlfriend or a baby mama he knows of though... Lol

Dbanj, PSquare, Wizkid, Iyanya, Davido and Flavour Nominated For VGMA African Artiste of the Year

 
Iyanya, Dbanj, Wizkid, P-Square, Davido and Flavour have all been nominated in the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards 2013 for the African Artiste of the year category.

Other Nigerians nominated in separate categories include;

 M.I ft Becca (No Away) - Best collaboration of the year
                                     Afro Pop song of the year
D’Black ft Mo’Cheddah (Falling) -  Hip-Hop song of the year

Saminiwill ft Wizkid (Time Bomb) - Reggae Dancehall of the year

The 14th edition of the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards holds this Saturday 18th May, 2013.

Part 2: "I Was Sick, Life Broken, Crashed...It was like a Real Divorce" - D'banj Talks About Spilt From Mo'Hits

In this Part D’Banj talks about his split from Mohits and his growth as an artist.

When asked about the split from mohits, this what the Kokomaster had to say; 
Actually for me.... it was okay already by January.. because already errm.. 6months before that I already knew it was over.... because thats when you know we got back from the states and he told me wanted us to divorce..you know it was a marriage... hmmm nine years and I lost custody of the kids too... only the one I had out of wedlock that's what I carried with me...my K-Switch I carried him..... We tried therapy for six months you know... I was almost sick... Like in the first six months from July to like December I was sick.. It was like a real divorce... now am not even sure am ever gonna get married again.. like proper marriage... because I was loyal.. nine years... I was life broken, crashed... was about to start a new life, new career.. I actually just went back to scratch you know.. but he was nice enough to give me my catalogues... I tried to make it work for six months and then we spoke in January and found out that there was no way there.. i just decided to go on vacation and luckily they play Oliver Twist..."

D’banj Signs Davido to His New record Label

According to published reports, Kokomaster D'banj has signed fast rising star, Davido to his newly established record label (name unknown) on Wednesday, May 16, 2012.

The signing took place at the 19-year-old’s house in Lekki after a five-man meeting involving D’banj, his manager Abisagboola ‘Bankulli’ Oluseun, Davido, his manager Asa Asika and father Deji Adeleke.

Sources say talks started weeks before  both acts met in the US. where D’banj and Davido were both spotted at the famous strippers joint - Diamonds Of Atlanta Gentlemans Club in Atlanta. (above photo)

Video: D’banj Plans to set up his Own Record Label?

The Artist who is signed to Kanye West's G.O.O.D Music talked about his new project in an interview while visiting Ghana.

Though he did not give details but he was dropping hints about a new record label.
“My new record label is being structured,” D’banj said. “What I have right now and I can tell you is that my new record label has worldwide distribution with Universal Music Group”.
He described the new label as a movement, adding that he is bringing Def Jam Universal Music Group to Africa so that it can be structured.
“For me it’s not about the record label, it’s about the success story of the whole movement. It is about bringing the structure that has made music what music is in global world and bringing it to Africa” he said.
