LASTMA Official Cause Bus Conductor’s Death in Lagos (Photos)

A bus conductor was crushed to death yesterday at the Old Tollgate area of the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway.

Witnesses said the incident occured when one of the LASTMA officials threw a metal object at the moving bus, in a bid to force the driver to bring the vehicle to a halt.

The object, however, missed the bus and hit the conductor, also known as Ilorin, who was hanging by the door. He immediately fell to the tarmac.

A LASTMA van, which was reportedly trailing the bus, then ran into the conductor, killing him instantly.

Another version had it that Ilorin was pulled down from the bus by two LASTMA officials because he refused to part with N100 bribe after the bus had picked some passengers at the Motorways bus-stop.
