Video: Venus and Serena Williams Inspire Girls At Government College, Ikoyi


The Williams Sisters were at the Government College Ikoyi to speak to the girls about a wide range of issues, from their ambitious beginnings to the secret behind their success as Tennis players.
The sisters stressed on family, and the need for older sisters to set the right example for their younger ones.
“My role model has always been my elder sister, she made me aspire to greatness. Also family is very important…” - Serena

The Williams sisters held a Press conference earlier today at Federal Palace Hotel, Victoria Island Lagos.
Serena commented:
“We were really able to break the mold and win a lot of Grand Slams and a lot of tournaments and not only that, but kind of change the face of tennis,”“We were able to break the mold in a sport that was really dominated by white people … it doesn’t matter what your background is and where you come from. First Photos: Venus Williams Arrives Lagos, Nigeria
Venus Williams, arrived in Nigeria today ahead of her younger sister Serena as part of the first leg of the recently launched “Breaking The Mould” (BTM) campaign, a women’s empowerment initiative.
Venus touched down at the Muritala Muhammed International Airport this afternoon and will be joined by Serena later today.
While in Lagos, the duo will mentor a broad range of audiences through a series of supporting initiatives which will include a gala dinner, a tennis clinic and an exhibition match.
