President Obama tops Forbes' list of World's Most Powerful

President Barack Obama tops Forbes’ Most Powerful People in the world list this year, beating out the likes of Russian Prime Minister Vladimir Putin, Chinese President Hu Jintao, Bill Gates and even Mark Zuckerberg.

The ranking takes into account four factors which are;

• How many people a person has power over
• The financial resources controlled by each candidate, whether that is revenues (for a company), GDP (for a country) or net worth (for a billionaire)
• Is a candidate influential in more than one arena, or sphere
• How actively the candidates wield their power
