Oprah Winfrey Faces Racism In Zurich - Told She Can't Afford Expensive Handbag At A Pricy Store

The 59 year old media mogul and currently Forbes' top 100 most powerful celebrity in the world narrated how she was a victim of racism during her visit to Zurich for her long time friend Tina Turner’s wedding last month. 

Oprah had gone into a pricy store, Trois Pommes, to purchase a $34k handbag but to her dismay the shop assistant refused to serve her telling her she could not afford it... Read below what she told Entertainment Tonight about the racist incident;

‘I was in Zurich the other day, in a store whose name I will not mention. I didn’t have my eyelashes on, but I was in full Oprah Winfrey gear. I had my little Donna Karan skirt and my little sandals. But obviously ‘The Oprah Winfrey Show’ is not shown in Zurich. I go into a store and I say to the woman, excuse me, could I see the bag right above your head? and she says to me, No. It’s too expensive.’

Oprah Winfrey Tops Forbes Most Powerful Celebrity 100

After two years, Oprah Winfrey, 59, is once again back as No.1 on Forbes' list of the world's most powerful celebrities. This is the fifth time the billionaire American talk-show host is ranked in this position.

Forbes calculated celebrity's earnings between June 2012 and June 2013 on income from tours, books, contracts, endorsements, movies and residuals and each star was given a marketability score, created by California market research firm E-Poll.

The Interview Transcript: Lance Armstrong Admits Doping to Oprah Winfrey

The Disgraced cyclist Lance Armstrong has held a "no-holds barred" interview with chat show host Oprah Winfrey in which he admitted using performance-enhancing drugs to win his seven Tour de France titles.

In the first of a two-part interview the 41-year-old American lifted the lid on one of the most high-profile stories in sporting history.

Oprah Winfrey: Did you ever take banned substances to enhance your cycling performance?

Lance Armstrong: "Yes."

Was one of those banned substances EPO?

"Yes."

Did you ever blood dope or use blood transfusions to enhance your cycling performance?

"Yes."

Did you ever use any other banned substances such as testosterone, cortisone or Human Growth Hormone?

"Yes."

In all seven of your Tour de France victories, did you ever take banned substances or blood dope?

"Yes."

Was it humanly possible to win the Tour de France without doping, seven times?

"Not in my opinion. That generation. I didn't invent the culture, but I didn't try to stop the culture."

The former cyclist, who has been stripped of his seven Tour de France titles and Olympics medal, has recorded a 90-minute interview with the American chat show at his home in Austin, Texas.

Oprah recently interviewed the 18 year old sensation for the first-ever global episode of Oprah's Next Chapter which will first air on Sunday, November 25 at 9 p.m. ET/PT on OWN and will then air throughout the world on DNI’s TLC, Home & Health and Real Time, beginning on the same night.

Bieber opened up to Winfrey about his growth as an artist, the pitfalls of fame and living in the spotlight. Later, Oprah and the Biebs went holiday shopping at a Ralph Lauren store and Bieber surprised onlookers with an impromptu acoustic performance.

The talk show titan asked Justin about the difficulty of dating Selena in the public eye and teenage star replied saying....

“We just sometimes … we gotta take back exits. I never make [Selena] separate from me because I don’t want her to ever feel like I’m ashamed of her. Because I feel like a lot of guys do that, especially in the business. They don’t want to be seen with the girl, so they’ll make them ride in separate cars. They’ll do that ‘get away’ stuff. [Selena and I] get away where … you know … getting away together”.

Oprah Set to Interview US Olympic Gold Medalist Gabby Douglas

Oprah Winfrey revealed that she scored an exclusive interview with US Olympic gymnast Gabrielle Douglas for "Oprah's Next Chapter" to air on Aug. 26 at 8:30 p.m. ET.

The 16-year-old star will join Oprah Winfrey for a special episode that will illuminate her life within and outside of the sport that made her a household name. 

The segment will take place in Iowa at the gym where Douglas spent six days a week training for the 2012 Olympic Summer Games, and will focus on an interview with the young star as well as interviews with Douglas’ host family and her mother, Natalie, who has become a familiar face thanks to cheering during all of Gabby’s competitions.

'I Lost My Best Friend' - Rihanna Opens Up to Oprah About Chris Brown (VIDEO)

Oprah sat down with Rihanna in her native Barbados for an interview on “Oprah’s Next Chapter.” During one of her more vulnerable moments, tears streamed down the pop superstar’s face when she was asked about her ex-boyfriend Chris Brown.

“It was embarrassing. It was humiliating. I lost my best friend. I was resentful. I held a grudge. I was dark,” she said while recalling the events that led to their breakup.

Oprah also asked her if Chris was her true love and where their relationship stands today, but you’ll have to tune in for the answers.

Plus, RiRi gave Oprah a tour of her childhood home and presented her mother with a surprise that she’s been wanting to give her since she was a little girl.

“I’m gonna look so soft,” said RiRi about their revealing conversation, which will air August 19 at 9 p.m. on OWN.

Sneak Peek: Rihanna Shares Life With Oprah On “Next Chapter” (Video)

Oprah visited Rihanna in her native Barbados earlier this month and came away with a whole new opinion of the pop star. She was expecting a hard-edged badass, but what she saw was a thoughtful, emotional, vulnerable woman, who also happens to be a good driver. 

They drove to her old house where she grew up and mingled with some of the neighbors. The down-to-earth singer took time to say hi to everyone and give them hugs. “I’m super-duper afraid of the pedestal that comes with fame,” said Rihanna, adding, “It’s amazing how lonely you can feel.”

In a new tell-all book, Malibu Nanny: The True Adventures of the Former Kardashian Nanny? by the Kardashian's nanny, Pam Behan, who worked for the family from 1991 - 1996, they revealed that the boyfriend in question was Michael Jackson's nephew TJ Jackson (Tito Joe Jackson).

Behn claims that Kim had a teenage relationship with the son of Michael's older brother Tito.

After five years of marriage, Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes are getting a divorce, PEOPLE has learned exclusively. 

"This is a personal and private matter for Katie and her family," says Holmes's attorney Jonathan Wolfe. "Katie's primary concern remains, as it always has been, her daughter's best interest." 
Cruise's rep tells PEOPLE: "Kate has filed for divorce and Tom is deeply saddened and is concentrating on his three children. Please allow them their privacy." 

The Rock of Ages star, 49, wed actress Holmes, 33, in an Italian castle in November 2006. They have daughter Suri, 6. 


This was Holmes's first marriage and the third for Cruise, who previously was married to the actresses Nicole Kidman, with whom he has two children, and Mimi Rogers.

Oprah Winfrey: 'Kim Kardashian's 72-day Marriage Justification Leveled me'

Kim's short-lived marriage has called into question their thirst for publicity, and Khloe's husband Lamar has had a difficult time as his basketball career stalled. But what better way to redress the balance than by an appearance alongside the queen of chat - Oprah Winfrey.

Winfrey interviewed all eight of the Kardashians, including Kris Jenner, Bruce, Kim, Khloe, Kourtney, Kylie, Kendall and Rob.

Khloe's hubby, Lamar Odom was also there for the interview, as well as Kourtney's boo Scott Disick. The whole group sat down with the Big O at the Kardashian residence out in Hidden Hills, Cali.

It is the first appearance for the reality TV infamous family, and Oprah admitted that she had a lot of catching up to do, ahead of the interview.

Whitney Houston’s daughter, Bobbi Kristina, is set to break her silence publicly for the first time since her mother’s death during an upcoming episode of Oprah Winfrey’s “Next Chapter.”

The interview will Air on OWN Network, 9pm/est on March 11 which is also the one month anniversary of Houston’s death.

The show also features the singer's sister-in-law Patricia Houston and brother Gary Houston as they discuss "rumors and speculation surrounding Houston's death.”
