Ikeja City Mall Store Owners Shut Down Over New Parking Fee

Store owners of the Ikeja City Mall temporarily closed today to protest against the new parking fee of N200 per hour implemented by the management of the mall.

According to a source who visited the mall this morning, most of the stores were shut down and had signs on the doors saying they were protesting extortion by the Ikeja city mall operators.

The store owners also said that the new fees would affect their business adversely and was not part of the agreement with the mall operators.

They also said it is contrary to the business model of a shopping mall which depends on free moving customers leisurely shopping for goods after wandering and window shopping.

The store owners have a good point, this will definitely drive away customers.
