Return of Jenifa grosses N10m in 7days

...sold about N10 million in seven days
…gets two weeks extension at cinema

Barely a week of its release to the cinemas, “The Return of Jenifa” (TROJ) has out sold all other Nollywood movies at the cinema in the country, a feat which many believe may rank the movie as one of the fastest grossing Nollywood movies.

The feat is more remarkable as the movie is only showing in three cinemas- Silverbird Lagos and Abuja and Ozone Cinema in Yaba, Lagos. Recording such a feat may not come as a surprise because Funke is renowned for churning out blockbusters movies. Movies like Jenifa and Omo Ghetto were said to have sold in their numbers.

The impressive showing which has already earned the producer more than N10 million in seven may see the producer earning more as some of the cinemas have asked for a two weeks extension. This means the movie will be at the cinema for four weeks.
