A massive bomb blast has ripped through Lord Chosen Assembly church on Rukuba road in Jos city, the capital of Plateau state leaving 3 people dead and 42 injured.

According to witnesses,  the explosion was an act of a suicide bomber, who blew himself up outside the church.

About the same time, unknown Gunmen opened fire on a church in Biu Town,  Borno state this morning, spraying the congregation with bullets and wounding many of them.

“Three gunmen came to the premises of the church and started firing at people outside the church before going into the main building to carry on their killings … Many people have been killed and wounded,” said witness Hamidu Wakawa, who was at the church in Biu Town, Borno state.

The Plateau State Commissioner of Police, Emmanuel Ayeni, has confirmed the  explosion in Jos.  Also youths in Rukuba, Jos, have blocked routes leading to the church, thus preventing journalists from covering the incident.
