Kim Kardashian Files for Divorce from Kris Humphries, Khloe defends big Sister

From US Magazine

Just 72 days after their $10 million wedding, Kim Kardashian filed for divorce from Kris Humphries on Monday, documents at TMZ confirm. The reality star also confirmed the news to Ryan Seacrest. "Yes @kimkardashian is filing for divorce this morning," Seacrest tweeted. "I touched base with her, getting a statement in just a few minutes."

"There were rumors up until the wedding and after the wedding," Seacrest added Monday during his radio show. "Looks like this is true and she is filing this morning (Oct. 31)."

TMZ reports that Kardashian, 31, will not seek an annulment and plans to cite "irreconcilable differences in her filing."

Kardashian's attorney is celeb lawyer Laura Wasser, who has represented such stars as Britney Spears, Maria Shriver, Angelina Jolie, Ryan Reynolds, and Robyn Gibson.

Indeed, the latest Us Weekly reports of major friction between Kardashian and NBA star Humphries, 26.

The newylweds are "not getting along at all," one insider said. "Kris is not drinking the Kardashian Kool-Aid, and it's causing major problems."

At issue? While Kardashian, 31, juggles her reality shows and multiple moneymaking ventures, the basketball hunk 26, is unemployed thanks to the NBA lockout -- and partying up a storm on his wife's dime.

The pair wed lavishly in Montecito, Calif. after just nine months of dating. "On some levels," says a friend, "she feels like she made a mistake."

Shortly after Kim Kardashian announced the end of her 72-day marriage to Kris Humphries, the E! reality star's outspoken younger sister Khloe addressed the inevitable backlash on Twitter.

"Reading some these comments are so hurtful. I'm grateful for our fans who understand and are being respectful," she wrote. "Hate is disgusting. Love is everything."

"Thank God for family. We are strong and we will only become closer!" Khloe, 27, added. "I love you."

In a statement to Us Weekly, Kim, 31, explained that it was "not an easy decision" to file for divorce. "I had hoped this marriage was forever but sometimes things don't work out as planned. We remain friends and wish each other the best."
