Your impeccable manners made Prince Charming a living reality. Your fearlessness made you the man I dreamt of all my life and your total lack of seeking public approval before speaking your mind separated you from mere mortals.

Every year that I spent with you was an adventure - no two days were the same. With you, I was finally able to soar on wings wider than the ocean. With you I was blessed with the best children God in heaven had to give. With you, I learnt to face the world without fear and learnt daily the things that matter most. Your disdain for money was novel - sometimes funny, other times quite alarming. It mattered not a whit to you. Your total dedication to your people - Ndi-Igbo - was so absolute that really, very little else mattered. You never craved anybody's praise as long as you believed that you were doing right and even in the face of utmost danger, you never relented from speaking truth to power - to you, what after all, was power? It was not that conferred by the gun, nor that stolen from the ballot box. No. You understood that power transcended all that. Power is the freedom to be true to yourself and to God, no matter the cost.

Court Orders NDLEA to Pay Baba Suwe’s N25 Million in 21 Days

The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has being ordered by the Lagos High Court, to deposit the sum of N25 million into an interest yielding account of Nollywood actor & comedian, Babatunde Omidina (also known as Baba Suwe) within 21 days.

The presiding judge, Justice Yetunde Idowu in her ruling on Friday, ordered that the anti-drug agency, deposit the sum with the Chief Registrar of the Court, who would in turn deposit the money into an interest yielding account pending the determination of an appeal filed against her judgment by the agency at the Court of Appeal in Lagos.

Justice Idowu had ruled in November 2011 that the comic be paid N25 million for denying his rights to personal freedom.

The actor had sued the agency for N100 million following his trial and long detention after he was arrested for allegedly concealing drugs in his stomach in 2011.

NDLEA Arrests Pakistani with N120m Heroin

Mr. Syed Ahmed-Bukhari

Operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency have arrested a 35-year-old Pakistani with 13 kilogrammes of “high grade” heroin with an estimated street value of about N120m.

The anti-drug agency said the suspect, Mr. Syed Ahmed-Bukhari, was arrested at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos, shortly after arriving aboard a Qatar Airways flight from Doha.

The NDLEA Airport Commander, Mr. Hamza Umar said the 35-year-old Pakistani was apprehended following the discovery of 13 kilogrammes of high grade heroin in his hand luggage.

Also, a Nigerian clearing and forwarding agent by name Okereke Chukwudi, 42, who is suspected to be an accomplice has also been arrested and investigation had commenced.”

NDLEA said both suspects would be charged to court soon.

The late elder statesman and leader of the defunct Biafra Republic, Dim Chukwuemeka Odumegwu-Ojukwu was laid in state yesterday at the Micheal Okpara square, Enugu, where a crowd and top dignitaries gathered to pay their tributes.

The casket was draped in green-white-green national colours and placed on top of it was a pair of service shoes, a sword and a cap.

Present at the event were; Vice President Nnamadi Sambo; First Lady, Patience Jonathan; Chief of Army Staff, Lt. General Azubuike Ihejirika, Governor Babangida Aliyu of Niger State, Professor Wole Soyinka, Jerry Rawlings, former President of Ghana, and several state governors, Senators, traditional and religious leaders.

He will be buried today in his hometown, Nnewi in Anambra state.

May his soul Rest In Peace.

Multiple Accident On Lagos-Ibadan Expressway Early Friday Morning...Two Dead

The accident involved a trailer carrying heavy steel pipes and another loaded with goods and seven other cars.

The accident which occurred in the early hours of Friday along Berger road on the Magodo axis of the Lagos Ibadan express way  has killed two people and left nine others injured.

According to Channels TV, the accident happened as a result of a wreckage of an accident that happened last night on the high way which led other vehicles to crash into them. The trailer with the heavy pipes ran over two of the seven cars, killing a woman on the spot.With Heavy traffic built up on both sides of the expressway, officials of different government agencies such as Federal Road Safety Corps, (FRSC), Lagos State Transport Management Agency (LASEMA) and Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA) were present at the scene of the accident for rescue operations and to clear the wreckage.

The Portait made entirely of pills was created by mosaic artist Jason Mecier.

According to The Daily Caller The portrait of the late singer took Mercier 20 hours to create with more than 1,500 pills.

He said he is a huge Houston fan, and his artwork isn’t meant to offend anyone, but that it is meant to be “sad, ironic and evocative.

As an artist you want to raise these emotions. I find these pieces more honest than disrespectful,” he said.

Nigerian man arrested for theft and attempted rape at University of Maryland college park

On Wednesday, February 29, 2012, University of Maryland Police investigators arrested and charged Oluwafemi T. Charles, 28, of Silver Spring for his involvement in the burglary of a 7th floor Cumberland Hall residence on the University of Maryland College Park campus which occurred in the early morning hours of February 26, 2012.

During the incident, Charles entered the residence of an 18 year old female student in an attempt to steal property. While he was in the room he touched the student without her consent.

“I am very impressed with the excellent work and quick arrest made in this case by our detectives”, stated David Mitchell, Chief of Police. “Their dedication and commitment in identifying and apprehending dangerous suspects should send a strong message to those preying upon our community of this agencies vigilance.
