Dana Aircraft Makes Emergency Landing at Lagos Airport

A McDonnell 83 aircraft belonging to Dana Airlines made an emergency landing on runway 19R of the Lagos airport on Thursday evening after experiencing “hydraulic failure” mid air.

The aircraft, which was coming from Uyo with 86 passengers on board, developed a mechanical fault on its way to Lagos and was forced to request for an emergency landing from air traffic controllers on duty at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos.

The Director-General, Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority, Dr. Harold Demuren, confirmed the incident. He, however, said that the emergency landing was successful and that there was no loss of life.
